According to the latest global report published by telecommunications giant Ericsson, mobile data usage is set to grow ten-fold within only six years time.
Previously in June we covered the changing trends in the mobile market that had been identified by Comreg for Q1 2015. With the latest report with data from Q2 2015 published, we again have a look at how Irish customers are using their devices and what they are paying.
With mobile use increasingly centred around data services, mobile plans that offer generous data allowances at reasonable prices are becoming more and more favoured by Irish customers. In light of this, we looked at the current data offerings from Irish providers to find out where the best value for mobile data could be found.
Are you on the cheapest roaming plan? Using your mobile phone while travelling can be expensive. Complicated roaming fees and high charges mean that prices vary significantly depending on where you are travelling and what network you are on. Calls for the same trip can range in cost from tens of euro to thousands of euro! Unfortunately, the Irish consumer has to be very careful when roaming, be it for leisure or business.
Carphone warehouse have announced that their new mobile network offering for the Irish market will be called "iD" and will be available this summer. Promising flexible tariffs, and excellent value, this release adds to the already competitive mobile network marketplace in Ireland. Stay tuned to see if you can save money by switching!
KillBiller now compares Billpay and Prepay mobile phone plans
KillBiller has been used over 22,000 times by Irish mobile phone users, and feedback has been great. Now we are updating our app to make it even better. We're adding support for prepay plans. This has been a much requested feature and we're very excited, we think you should be too.
Prepay plans are used by over 50 % of the Irish population, and, on average, cost consumers a staggering €20 less per month!
The new update will allow you to compare Billpay and Prepay plans easily. Also, if you're curious about your top-up history KillBiller will now be able to provide you with a detailed estimate of your spending.
