Meteor Extras – Meteor's new loyalty and rewards program

Getting mobile customers is hard for networks. Keeping mobile customers can be even harder. That's why most networks try to sweeten the deal. We've written before about Vodafone Cherry Points and reduced Spotify prices, Three's 3Plus awards, and Tesco Mobile's club card points

Last week, Meteor joined the fray with "Meteor Extras" – a new loyalty programme for both bill-pay and pre-pay customers.

Meteor Extras loyalty programme launched in September 2015.

If you're a Meteor customer, the process is very simple—you need to log in to the www.meteor.ie/extras website, agree to the terms and conditions, and start claiming your rewards. The main deals on offer are:

Free Cinema Tickets

Meteor are offering their customers one free cinema ticket, every month. There's over 35 different cinemas that you can choose from, and you can go to any movie, any time of the week, any time of the month. It's actually pretty impressive considering the cost of cinema tickets. The cinema list includes ODEON, IMC, and Savoy cinemas in Dublin.

There are some well known names in the restaurant list including Burritos and Blues, Captain Americas, Brasserie 7, Milanos, Mizzoni's in Dublin, with Eden, The Mandalay, El Vino in Cork, and Péarla na Mara and Urban in Galway amongst others.

2-for-1 Days Out

More 2-for-1 cheap goodness on daytime activities for Meteor Customers. The team in Meteor must have done a tour of the country to find things to do—there's a pretty extensive list of fun activities, ranging from Bowling to Canoeing to Flying boat museums (?). Most places have somewhere near, some well known names include Glasnevin Cemetery Museum, Harold's Cross Greyhound Stadium, Dingle Dolphin Trip, West Cork Model Railway Village, and The Adventure Islands.

One VERY happy family availing of Meteor's loyalty offers. Meteor don't actually guarantee family happiness, but it's definitely a possibility.

Worth it?

All in all, there's a a few great days out, followed by some half price food, and then half price cinema if you want to do a magical combination!

Meteor's offer is definitely a useful loyalty program, perhaps enough to tempt people to shift to Meteor! If you do decide to switch, you'll find Meteor's plans listed in the KillBiller mobile application—Meteor also released pretty competitive new plans just this summer (check out our post).

Remember also to check out the loyalty offers from the other networks—Vodafone and Three in particular have elements that may sway your decision.

If you're looking for more details on Meteor's programme, you will find them on the Meteor Extras website.
